Propane Bobtail Driver
Core Responsibilities
Safe Delivery: Transport and transfer propane from the bobtail truck to customer storage tanks or cylinders.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, checking mechanical functions and critical components like pressure gauges, valves, and connections.
Documentation: Accurately track and record delivery tickets, inventory levels, and mileage; submit daily driver reports.
Route Coordination: Collaborate with dispatchers for efficient routing and immediate reporting of any safety or customer issues.
Site Inspections: Perform visual inspections of customer tanks and equipment for leaks or safety hazards before filling.
Job Requirements
License: Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Endorsements: Tanker and Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) endorsements are typically mandatory.
Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical tasks such as pulling heavy hoses and lifting up to 75 pounds.
Clean Record: Must maintain a clean driving record and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Working Conditions
Seasonal Intensity: Workloads often increase significantly during colder months.
Schedule: Typically day-shift roles that get drivers home nightly, though on-call rotations for emergency deliveries or overtime may be required.
Environment: Drivers operate independently in both rural and urban settings
